Cookie & Tracking Policy
Effective June 12, 2026Last updated June 12, 2026
This Cookie & Tracking Policy explains how the Mooday landing page (our marketing website at mooday.app) uses cookies, local storage, and analytics tools to understand how visitors find and use the site.
This policy is written in plain language on purpose. If anything is unclear, email admin@mooday.app.
1. Scope of This Policy
This policy covers the Mooday website only - the public landing page you are reading now. It does not cover the Mooday mobile app, your account, or the private journal entries you create in the app. How we handle your in-app data (mood check-ins, notes, photos, and voice memos) is described in our Privacy Policy.
In short: this page is about website analytics, not your personal journal.
2. Cookies and Similar Technologies
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Local storage and similar technologies work in much the same way. Websites use them to remember preferences, keep things working between page loads, and measure how the site is used.
The Mooday landing page uses these technologies for two purposes:
- Essential - the small amount of state needed for the site to load and function correctly.
- Analytics - measuring traffic and how visitors interact with the page, so we can improve it (described below).
We do not use cookies for advertising networks or to build cross-site advertising profiles.
3. Google Analytics 4
<!-- TO-CONFIRM: Google Analytics 4 integration on the landing page is planned but not yet wired up. Verify the measurement ID and confirm this section before publishing. -->We plan to use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) on the landing page to understand traffic and the effectiveness of our campaigns. When enabled, GA4 measures:
- Visitor traffic and page views
- Where visitors come from (search, social, direct, referrals)
- Campaign sources via UTM parameters (see Section 5)
- Basic conversion events, such as clicking a "Download" button
GA4 may set cookies in your browser and processes data such as your approximate location, device, and browser type. We use this in aggregate to improve the site - not to identify you personally. You can opt out as described in Section 6.
4. PostHog (Product & Interaction Analytics)
<!-- TO-CONFIRM: PostHog integration on the landing page is planned but not yet wired up. Confirm which features (click/funnel analytics, heatmaps, session replay) are enabled before publishing. -->We plan to use PostHog to understand how visitors interact with the landing page, including:
- Click and funnel analytics - which buttons and links visitors use, and where they drop off on the way to downloading the app.
Heatmaps and Session Replay
PostHog can also provide heatmaps (aggregated maps of where visitors click and scroll) and session replay (a reconstruction of a visit to help us spot usability problems).
These features are not currently enabled. If we turn them on, we will update this policy first. When session replay is enabled, PostHog is configured to mask text input so that anything typed into a form is not captured in the replay.
5. UTM Campaign Parameters
When we run a campaign or share a link, the URL may include UTM parameters - tags like
?utm_source=... and ?utm_campaign=... added to the end of a web address. These help us see which
campaign, ad, or post brought you to the site. They are part of the link itself and do not read
anything from your device.
6. Your Choices and How to Opt Out
You are in control of website tracking:
- Browser controls - you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.
- Google Analytics opt-out - install Google's official opt-out browser add-on.
- Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control - we honour browser "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where supported.
- Contact us - email admin@mooday.app with any request or question about tracking.
Blocking analytics cookies does not affect your ability to read the site or download the app.
7. What We Do Not Track
We want to be explicit about the line between website analytics and your private content:
- Your journal is never captured by website analytics. Your mood check-ins, notes, photos, and voice memos live in the Mooday app and are stored under your account - they are never sent to, read by, or captured by Google Analytics, PostHog, or any tool described in this policy.
- No advertising profiles. We do not use the landing page to build advertising profiles or sell your data.
- No sensitive data in analytics. We do not intentionally collect health, mood, or other sensitive personal information through website analytics.
8. Future Consent Banner
Depending on where our visitors are located, we may add a cookie consent banner before or at public launch so you can accept or decline non-essential analytics cookies. If we introduce one, this policy will be updated to describe how it works.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie & Tracking Policy as our analytics setup evolves - for example, when GA4 or PostHog goes live, or if we enable heatmaps or session replay. When we make a material change, we will update the "Last updated" date above.
